Getting started on the iPhone

Install the beta from TestFlight: how to install.
Open Gubernos → Start a new system → in the file picker choose iCloud Drive → New Folder (e.g. “Gubernos”) → choose it.
Allow notifications, and Apple Health if you want habits ticked off from it.

That’s enough for tasks, the inbox, projects, habits, reminders, widgets and the Apple Watch. Agents, the chat and the calendar in Plan the day need Gubernos for Mac.

Connecting your Mac

Install Gubernos on your Mac (install guide) and pick the same iCloud folder. Install Tailscale on the Mac and the iPhone with the same account. Then on the Mac open Settings → Connections → Pair a device and point the iPhone camera at the code.

Common questions

The app can’t read my folder / files are missing. iCloud may have offloaded them. On the Mac: Finder → the folder → right-click → Keep Downloaded. On the iPhone, open the folder once in Files.

“Can’t reach your Mac”. The Mac must be awake and Tailscale on in both devices. Without the Mac the iPhone keeps working and sends its changes when the Mac is back.

Where is my data? In your folder, as plain Markdown files you can open in any editor or in Obsidian. See the privacy policy.
